Emergency Medical Services

Represents and serves the professional interests of all EMS practitioners, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians, emergency medical responders, and other professionals providing prehospital and out-of-hospital emergent, urgent or preventive medical care.

Formed in 1992, the Florida Rural Health Association was created to provide a mechanism through which interested individuals and organizations in Florida could unite in advocacy for ensuring that all residents of rural Florida have access to a continuum of affordable healthcare.

The Florida EMS Association is dedicated to all Responders that assist those in need. FEMSA is founded with the principle of supporting responders that range from EMTs, Paramedics, First Responders, Nurses, PA's, and Physicians. It is our goal to assist by informing all Responders concerning education requirments, legislative proposals that affect all Responders so that informed decisions can be made.

The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians serves as the Nation’s Emergency Medical Services Certification organization. The mission of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians has always been centered on protecting the public and advancing the EMS profession.

The Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance is responsible for certifying Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians to ensure competency and safety to practice.
