Recreational Reading: Staff Picks

What should you read for fun?

Reader Advisory

Goodreads works like Netflix in that you can rate books as a member, and then recieve recommedations based on those ratings. Searching a particular book will also get you recommedations to similar books you might like, see "Readers also enjoyed similar books" on the right hand side. You can also use Goodreads to check the orders of series and find reviews of what readers thought of the book.

Bookish is a site similar to goodreads. You can save your rating, get recommendation and see what's coming, all with sleek graphics and easy navigation.

YourNextRead provides a visual map of recommendations based on the book you search. 8 options appear when you search a book, and you can either find your next read, or participate in recommending to others by using the Pandora-esque thumbs up or thumbs down buttons if you've read the choices.

Literature-Map is a site that allows you to enter an author's name and get similar authors. The results are presented in a visual "map" so you can see how similar other authors you might want to read are.
