Student Discounts

Tax Free Weekend - August 2nd - 4th 2019

To help with the purchase of supplies and materials for going back to school, some items are not taxed one weekend a year. School supplies such as paper, pens, and pencils, as well as some clothing will be tax free. Clothing and shoes are tax free up to $60 in price. Different retailers offer different deals and will offer specials during this weekend as well. Most will also advertise or have lists of what items fall under the tax free weekend. Food and Dining

Participation will vary by location, but most restaurants offer student discounts with a valid ID. Be sure to ask if a discount is available  Some of the discounts you may receive: 

Arby's: 10% off your meal

Buffalo Wild Wings: 10% off your meal

Burger King: 10% off your purchase

Chick-Fil-A: A free drink with the purchase of a meal

Chipotle: A free drink with the purchase of a meal

Dunkin' Donuts: 10% off your purchase

McDonald's: 10% off your purchase

Pizza Hut: 10-20% off your purchase

Computers and Online Deals

Apple: Macs can be a little pricey but they work well and are easy to use. You can save up to $200 off your purchase when you use your .edu email. You can also get other discounts and special pricing for paid services like Apple Music. Look into special financing as well on desktops, laptops, and tablets. 

Dell: Special pricing and coupons are available when you purchase or sign up using Dell University. Price matching and member offers are also available. 24/7 support is offered for a premium price. 

HP: HP Academy will offer special pricing or matching for computers and parts for specific schools and majors. Depending on your course of study, different offers are available. 

Microsoft: Special discounts and free access to Office 365. Other software and support available to students who use their .edu accounts. 

Prime Student: Get Amazon Prime free for 6 months. After your trial, your membership will automatically update to a paid membership, but with a 50% discount. You can cancel anytime. Amazon Prime offers free 2-day shipping on nearly everything sold by Amazon, a digital streaming video service, special offers on products and digital content, unlimited cloud photo storage, and more. 

College Deals: Essentials, electronics, and other products are offered at a discount to students, even without the Amazon Prime Student membership. Coupons and other lightning deals are available for a limited time. 


AMC Theaters: With your student ID, you'll be able to upgrade concessions purchases for a lowered cost or for free. Some locations have reduced ticket prices for students with IDs on Thursday nights. The AMC Stubs program also offers additional weekly discounts, coupons, and an upgradable account that offers more rewards. 

Most theaters, sporting events, and attractions offer discounts for students. Be sure to bring your student ID or call ahead to see if there are specific nights or seats for students.
