Vietnam War Memory Project

Acclaimed by viewers and critics alike, American Experience documentaries have been honored with every major broadcast award, including 30 Emmy Awards, four duPont-Columbia Awards, and 17 George Foster Peabody Awards; the series received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Documentary Feature in 2015 for Last Days in Vietnam.

The Virtual Vietnam Archive currently contains over 4 million pages of scanned materials. Types of material include documents, photographs, slides, negatives, oral histories, artifacts, moving images, sound recordings, maps, and collection finding aids. All non-copyrighted and digitized materials are available for users to download.

There are many different approaches to interviewing people for an Oral History project, and this presentation is not the final word on the matter. The purpose for providing this web based Oral History Workshop is to assist veterans, students, and the general public who are interviewing veterans of the wars in Southeast Asia for research projects or personal interest.
