Borrowing from Other Libraries - Interlibrary Loans

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables Pensacola State College students and staff to borrow materials PSC doesn't own from other libraries.  Currently enrolled students can request the following types of items from other libraries:

  • Books
  • Articles
  • DVDs
  • CDs

Please note: Textbooks cannot be requested through ILL.

FAQs

Who can use the service?  Currently enrolled PSC students with a valid student ID.

What items can be requested?  Books, copies of articles and some A/V materials.  Exceptions: Textbooks cannot be requested.  Some libraries do not lend A/V material like DVDs.

How soon will they arrive?  Most requests are filled within 10 business days.  You will be contacted when the material has arrived at your chosen campus library.

How long is the check out period?  Although that ultimately depends on the lending library, most books are checked out from their lending libraries for 2-4 weeks, usually with one renewal.  DVDs are generally checked out for shorter periods with no renewal.  Again, the exact loan periods vary.

Before making a request, please check the PSC Library Catalog (left) to make sure that our libraries don't already own the item.
