Course Learning Outcomes:

  1. The student will complete a medical questionnaire (personal and family history).
  2. The student will evaluate their present physical condition through group and self-testing activities.
  3. The student will participate in a complete health/fitness analysis.
  4. The student will perform physical exercises correctly.
  5. The student will participate in various health/fitness programs including nutritional analysis, stress management, and physical fitness exercises (both aerobic and strength training).
  6. The student will assess cardiovascular efficiency by measuring resting heart rate and blood pressure.
  7. The student will measure body composition using height, weight, body-fat measurements and various individual protocols.
  8. The student will measure flexibility using a variety of procedures.
  9. The student will measure muscular strength and endurance through national norms testing and write an individual exercise prescription based on interpretation of data.
